This year the festival has a new look, and a change in the venue of its opening weekend with not one - but two fantastic events planned in two separate locations!
Saturday 24th June sees the launch of the festival in Lawrenny!
Set in a magical location overlooking the Cleddau, Lawrenny Castle estate did once, as the name suggests, used to have a Castle located here. Lawrenny Castle was a large towered and turreted mansion, typical of the mid 19th century but it was demolished in the 1950's. The Terrace still exists and the grass that sweeps down to the Cleddau are the remains of an old deer park which is now used for grazing organic Calon Wen dairy herds.
It is here that your Fish Week Festival adventure starts. Packed with plenty food, fun and family activities including: cookery and fly tying demonstrations, stalls of crafts, food and artisan products, a lagoon of learning - learn to salt, smoke and fillet fish; join Silent World Aquarium and the Darwin Centre to discover more about what lives in the seashore; fishy tales and folk music, foraging, explore the cleddau by boat trip or guided kayak tours, walks and tours, including a trip to the oyster beds....and why not round off the day with a fish supper and live music at the Lawrenny Arms?
With so much to do, you're guaranteed a great day out for all!
Why not arrive in style on a water taxi along the haven? With water taxis, supported by the Port of Milford Haven, operating throughout the day from both Pembroke Dock and Milford Haven, surely that's an adventure on its own? Have you ever taken a trip up the haven? Now is your chance! Park and ride options are also provided.
